Sucessful Operation but may need to Move

Joshua's operation has given us a new boy. It's just two weeks ago, that he went in to have his tonsils and adenoids out and grommets put in. Wow, I can't believe what a different wee lad he is. He struggled with sleep apena due to the size of the adenoids and was really frustrated at times at not hearing and understanding what to call things, plus eating enough to keep a sparrow alive. Now he's eating more then me, sleeping deeply and so happy to be able to name something. Favourite word 'duck'.
I look back with a little disappointment that our doctor 'fogged me off" with it's just another cold, but grateful that God went over the system and got us in on a cancellation with a specialist and two weeks later money was given to cover the operation.
Hence, this ball of energy is keeping me busy reading books as his world has opened up to him, wanting to climb everything that stays still and keeps me constantly in and out of the kitchen finding him things to eat.
What I've learnt through it, is never doubt your God built in sense, that says 'something is not right here' and push, to be heard. It took some sleepless nights and Jay telling me, tell the doctor your concerns till she hears you. So I did.
He turns 2yrs old 5th April and I've invited 8 wee friends and their Mums and hired a rollercoaster from the toy library.
My Mum is coming from the North Island for the week to celebrate with us, so that will be great.

I get my first two kids to care for at the end of the month. James 2yrs old and Jessi 3 1/2yrs old. Looking forward to it. Only for 5hrs, but it's a start and a little extra cash as well.

Our landlord not going to come through with the heating he promised so we may need to move, which is a little upsetting. We've been here 4yrs now and I love the place, but now Joshua is a busy mobile child and the daycare kids, the house is too small to live in only the half that we can afford to heat. Will keep you posted on that one. Just heard that today so need to ask our Father what to do.

Better go and have some lunch. Don't like this season of Grey's much but continue to love Desperate Housewives.
Bye for now.
I need to add a photo will make it the next post.

A long awaited post

Hi friends, Sorry I haven't posted for ages. I got a little put off by it all when I got a posting from someone I didn't know who liked the look of my son. It kind of frecked me out a little as I though how vunerable I am to the web through this blog. Anyway, I guess that sounds a little silly but I'm over that now so I'll try to make time again.

Belated Happy New Year wishes to everyone!!! We went to Wellington and had Christmas with my matron and of honor and her family and my Mum. It was great. 9 of us. I loved it. I love being with lots of people. I guess that's why YWAM suited me so much. While we were in a NZ museam Te Papa, Joshua decided to join in a dance that was being performed for us. I'll post some pictures of that. So cute.

Joshua is about to have 3 operations. Tonsils and adenoids out and grommets for his ears. He's been struggling for awhile and I'll be so glad when its done - 28th February. We got a gift of money so we can go private which means we can have the operation in 2 weeks time instead of 3 months through the public system.

Jay is looking for another job and enjoying the process of doing tests etc to find out what he'd be suited for. I'm all set up to run a small day care from home now and hope to have 2 children to care for starting early March. I've asked for a 2yr old and a 3yr old. I will do this 3 days a week and I'm looking forward to it. I'm praying for the right families and hoping I will make a difference in all of their lives.

The great idea's of Jay photographing weddings and me the wedding planner never took off and now the wedding season here in NZ is almost over. That's ok, but the money would of been nice.

Focus on the family has been talking a lot about marriage with Valentines this week, so I've been thinking about how to better communicate with Jay. Men are so different from us. Well at least I think so...

Thinking of Heidi getting married in India soon. Plus hoping her world ticket will include a trip to us in NZ.

Bye for now,
Love Mary.
PS thanks for letting me catch up on your lives through your blogs.

Between events

First, Mum's 80th party went off so went. PTL We managed to keep it a secret and all 50 of the guests I invited came and waited quietly as she approached the cafe. She loved it! It was a full weekend with her cutting into 3 cakes, family party (she knew about), surprise party and the church through morning tea with another cake.
Plus as a family we almost looked healthy and functional which was really nice. I'll post some photo's from it.
When Mum thought it was all over I had a hot rod organised for her as she said years earlier if she ever made it to 80years old she wanted to go down the road in a noiser vehicle. So she did.
Now that's all over, I feel a little flat and I need to wait till we can avoid a fancy flash for Jay's new camera and for him to take his first wedding shot's before we can post our services as wedding planner/photographer. Probably end of October.
Also need to wait till we move to get next phase started with asian students boarding and small child care. That will probably be January. So in the meantime I continue to care for my two boys (Jay and Joshua) and get more into the church here and all Joshua's weekly events with other kids. This saturday I'm off with other Mums on a mystery bus tour. So looking forward to it. Mum's only and Jay gets to care for Joshua all afternoon.
Can't wait for spring. Tired of cold days and battling colds. Bring on the warm weather....
Bye for now...

New ideas

First before I share what we've been processing. Found this photo of the last DTS staff team I lead at Vancouver the other day so thought I'd post it.
We've been wandering how to make some more money and move on to serve more. Two weeks ago a friend of mine asked Jay to photograph her wedding in October. He wanted to but we don't have a good enough camera so she said she'd give us money for one as payment for the wedding photo's. WOW so God arranged a camera sale for us and Jay bought his dream camera. I soon told friends our exciting news and he was asked to photograph a kid's party and a 50th birthday. This may be the new thing to help boost the income. Pretty exciting and I'm full of ideas for it. We may even do a wedding package and I be a wedding planner. How cool would that be! Plus Jay has been invited onto the worship team to play his percussions and I may help out with planning women's events. Also hoping to move to a bigger house next year to be able to entertain you fine people and maybe get a student to live with us plus I may run a small day care for 3 days a week starting in February.
Plus there's more, we get to share our vision for encouraging churches in Christchurch to focus more on the 10/40 window to the unreached people groups with our church Monday August 6th.
Joshua is doing well in the midst of Mum and Dad's endevours. I've also discovered I love scrapebooking. I'm working on one for my Mum's 80th birthday next month. Hey winter doesn't have to boring after all.
Lots of love till next time....

We met 5 years ago

We're got some friends coming to babysit tonight and I'm so looking forward to it. Not having family nearby we rarely do go out but we've decided to book one night at least once a month. Tonight's the night. Aye!!!
We are also celebrating that Jay and I met 5 years ago at his churches social evening. A month later we were dating and 1 year later we were married. We need to feed and settle Joshua first, so we'll go to the movies then dessert afterwards. Going to see Shrek 3. You North American's have probably already see it. We loved the 1st two.
Joshua is finally crawling well and getting into everything. I so enjoy this age. To be honest I've loved every age except the 1st 7 weeks because of lack of sleep. Need to go. Bye for now, lots of love....
